One person injured in spate of shootings in Stockholm
Police are investigating three shootings in Stockholm on Wednesday evening.
The first shooting took place during rush hour at around 6pm on the platform of Bagarmossen metro station in southern Stockholm. No one was injured, but a man is being held on suspicion of murder and aggravated weapons offence.
An hour later, suspected gunshots were fired at a house in Järfälla, north of Stockholm. Several people were inside the house at the time, but no one was injured. At midnight police announced they had arrested two teenagers, including one boy aged under 18.
Then shortly after 9pm police were called out to a venue in Södertälje, south of Stockholm, after witnesses heard loud bangs. An injured person was found at the scene and brought to hospital. Police were not immediately able to say if any suspects were being held.
It's too early to say whether or not the incidents are linked, police said.
"We know that it isn't rare for shootings to be linked in general, but we don't yet know in this case," police spokesperson Carina Skagerlind told the TT news agency.

Suspicious objects found in Linköping were harmless
The police bomb squad was called out to central Linköping, in the southern half of Sweden, after two suspicious objects were found.
Police examined the objects with a robot, but shortly before 9pm they announced the objects were not dangerous.

Swedish banks cut mortgage rates
Several Swedish banks on Wednesday lowered their mortgage rates.
Swedbank lowered its rates by 0.05-0.40 percentage units for mortgages with fixed terms of between one and ten years. A one-year mortgage now has a rate of 4.34 percent and a two-year mortgage a rate of 4.04 percent.
Länsförsäkringar meanwhile cut its one-year and two-year mortgage rates by 0.35 percentage units, also to 4.34 and 4.04 percent, respectively.
Landshypotek Bank also lowered all its rates, including the rate for variable mortgages.
Remember that it's usually possible to negotiate your mortgage, so you don't have to take these rates at face value.

'Make yourself employable': Minister's warning as Swedish unemployment reaches 10-year high
Sweden is facing its highest unemployment rate in a decade, excluding the pandemic period, the government warned.
Sweden remains in a recession, with unemployment particularly high among those born abroad, according to a recent press release from the Swedish Ministry of Labour.
The ministry noted that the country is seeing its highest unemployment rate in ten years, excluding the Covid-19 pandemic period.
"More people must join the workforce. Outsiders and subsidy dependency need to be met with measures in many different areas," Labour Market and Integration Minister Johan Pehrson said.
"Everyone who finds themselves on the outside (of the job market) has a big personal responsibility to make themselves employable, for example, by learning Swedish, getting an education, and acquiring knowledge about how Swedish society works. In the budget bill for 2024, the government has invested even more in vocational training to get more people into work," Pehrson added.
