Kungsbacka mall to reopen after shop worker shot
The Kungsmässan mall was set to open as normal on Monday, after a shop worker was shot on Sunday afternoon.
The shop worker was shot during his shift at the mall in Kungsbacka, south of Gothenburg, at around 3pm on Sunday.
Police quickly seized a suspect who is now being held on suspicion of attempted murder. According to unconfirmed information published by the Aftonbladet tabloid, the suspect is a boy under the age of 15. The state of the shop worker's injuries wasn't immediately known.
According to visitors to the mall, an alarm rang out urging people to get themselves to safety. Witnesses described seeing people running towards other shops or the exit at the sound of gunshots, some carrying their children in their arms, some crying. No one else was injured.
The mall said their crisis management team would be on site on Monday, for any concerned shoppers in need of speaking with their representatives. Heightened police presence was also to be expected, to communicate with the public and investigate the incident.

Longer commutes expected as Denmark beefs up border controls
Denmark is stepping up controls at its borders with Sweden and Germany, which is expected to lead to longer journey times for cross-border commuters between Malmö and Copenhagen as extra checks of vehicles and train passengers are carried out, police warned.
"Unfortunately commuters will notice it during periods. When we're there we're going to ask the Öresund connection to limit the speed of traffic," said Peter Dahl of the Copenhagen police.
There are already border checks in the other direction, which means that trains heading from Copenhagen to Malmö sometimes halt at Malmö Hyllie while police board the train to check passengers' passports or national IDs.
In Copenhagen, there were two explosions in the "immediate vicinity" of the Israeli embassy on Wednesday, police said. In Stockholm, police said shots were fired at the Israeli embassy on Tuesday. There were no injuries in either city.
Two Swedish citizens aged 16 and 19 are suspected in Denmark of having triggered the explosions in Copenhagen with hand grenades. They must initially remain in custody until the end of the month.

More than 4,000 white collar workers laid off in third quarter
More than 4,000 white collar workers in the private sector lost their jobs in the third quarter, according to TRR – an organisation that helps its members retrain for new professions and works on behalf of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and the PTK trade union group.
Last year, 3,651 white collar workers were laid off in the private sector in the same period.
"Unfortunately we're seeing no recovery in the labour market in autumn," said TRR CEO Johan Lagerhäll.
On the bright side, demand for their skills remained high. A total of 2,870 people registered with TRR either left to start new jobs, their own businesses or to study in the third quarter.

Far-right leader slammed over motorcycle gang leader at wedding
Sweden Democrat leader Jimmie Åkesson was sharply criticised by opposition politicians after it turned out that one of the guests invited to his wedding last weekend is the leader of a local motorcycle club which has been linked to the motorcycle gang crime milieu in Sweden.
Hundreds of people attended the wedding, including Business Minister Ebba Busch, who is also the deputy prime minister.
"The short answer is that my wife and I weren't aware of these connections," wrote Åkesson on the X platform. "The person in question has been married to an old friend and colleague for a few years, who I have known for 25 years and has been very close to me," he added.
He said he had met the man in question at previous events, but only knew him superficially.
"If it turns out a guest at my wedding really does have links to gang crime, it's a particularly unfortunate and, simply put, dumb but honest mistake which I genuinely regret."
Social Democrat opposition politician Annika Strandhäll said the party would be calling the security police, Säpo, to appear before parliament's justice committee and explain the security arrangement at the wedding.
"It is of course deeply inappropriate and unacceptable that some of Sweden's most senior politicians party with, or are even close to, the gang criminal environment," she told the Expressen tabloid, highlighting Sweden's current struggles to crack down on gang crime.
"How come Sweden's deputy prime minister then ends up at an event where a gang leader participates? We have to get to the bottom of how this happened and what assessments were made," said Strandhäll.
