The series is based on the semi-autobiographical hit novel Halva Malmö består av killar som har dumpat mig (Half of Malmö consists of guys who have dumped me) by Amanda Romares.
It follows the progress of Amanda, a kooky, artistic 31-year-old, who tries to get out of a sexual dry patch by launching into a summer of intensive dating, opening herself up to men of wildly different types and backgrounds, with hilarious consequences.
After launching on September 11th, the series is already number one in terms of viewing in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Estonia, second in Finland, and third in Slovakia and Austria.
But the series, which plays out mostly in Malmö's more bohemian districts with Amanda's hippy mother and bohemian friends, has also made the top ten in an impressive 26 other countries, including major markets like France, Germany and Spain.
It's been described as a Malmö version of the hit US series Girls, or a modernised Bridget Jones Diary, and very much captures the colourful, shabby chic home decoration and lifestyle of a certain portion of people in Malmö's third biggest city.
