Where are schools closed?
Schools in Västernorrland (which despite the name is actually in eastern Norrland) remained closed on Friday due to the snow, after postponing the start of the spring term on Thursday.
Upper secondary schools in Härnösand municipality are closed while other schools are carrying out distance teaching.
School buses and regular buses are also seriously affected, and Kramfors municipality is urging parents to keep their children home if possible.
Schools in Bollnäs, near Gävle, are also closed on Friday after postponing the start of term from Thursday until Monday.
Upper secondary schools in Gothenburg are now open as normal, after they closed for on-site tuition on Thursday. The city opted to open compulsory schools, or grundskolor, on Thursday as normal despite the weather warning.
Where is transport affected?
Several bus lines in Gothenburg remained cancelled on Friday due to the impact of the week's snowfall, with bus numbers 60, 61, 62, 63, 90, 91 and 309, all cancelled until 12pm on Friday, according to Västtrafiken's website.
The Västtågen regional trains are also heavily affected with cancellations and delays on many routes on Friday.
There is also heavy disruption to public transport in Västernorrland. All trains on the Botniabanan rail line between Kramfors and Umeå and on the Ådalsbanan route between Sundsvall and Långsele have been cancelled until midday on Friday, at the earliest.
Din Tur, the regional bus company in Västernorrland, cancelled all bus traffic in Kramfors, Örnsköldsvik, and Härnösand until 9am on Friday.
