Borg: unions will alienate their members
Sweden's biggest trade unions should back, and not protest against, a reform package proposed by the government that includes cuts in benefits, finance minister Anders Borg said in an interview published in the Financial Times on Thursday.
Borg will not be prosecuted
Finance minister Anders Borg will not face prosecution, despite admitting that he paid domestic workers cash-in-hand. Prosecutors have also decided not to pursue former ministers Maria Borelius and Cecilia Stegö Chilò.
'Punishments for inactive unemployed'
Finance minister Anders Borg wants unemployed people not actively seeking work to be docked a day's benefits. He intends to introduce the change "as soon as possible", Svenska Dagbladet reports.
